Nebraska/Iowa "Storm"

Nebraska/Iowa "Storm"

"Storm," that is what they are calling it. My Dog was going absolutely crazy, so I opened the door to let him out.  Everything from my back deck was flying around in circles in my back yard!  There was hail ranging in size from Pea to baseball (also rotating in a circular motion)  My oak tree was nearly bent in half, and when it was all said and done, many large branches from said oak tree were in my yard.  (I might also mention that had my step-daughter not borrowed my car for the day, I would no longer have a car.)

The sky was almost a pea green.  I have lived in Nebraska almost my entire life and have not seen anything like this.  I was in the midst of the tornado that devastated Nebraska in the 70's, and this, to me, was much more dramatic.

Afterwards. people were walking around checking on neighbors, then beginning the huge task of cleanup. Most of the city was without power, (me included) so everyone wanted to get a jump on cleanup before dark.

I had two itineraries I was working on, plus had an item sold on eBay that I was supposed to get mailed.  I will rush to get the itineraries done today, as I had already completed most of the work.

I had a new friend from Moms United in Business that was moving to Nebraska yesterday.  I have yet to contact her.  Welcome to Nebraska!  I fear we are in for a VERY stormy summer.  We had a tornado last week, then the storm yesterday.  That is Nebraska.  Albeit, yesterday's storm was unsettling, I still Love Nebraska.  I still love storms.  It teaches us that Nature, despite all of mans devices, is still in control.

It took me about 4 hours to account for all family members and that was the worse part.  Cell phones were even disabled.  I took pictures and will post when developed.

My power, hence my computer are now functional, so work goes on.

Until next time...
