Keep the imagination sparked

Keep the imagination sparked

Every writer I know has experienced Writers Block at some point or another.  Sometimes our brain just needs a break.  It's hard work writing on a regular basis. If it lasts for too long, then you'll need to keep your imagainatio sparked until you get an inspiration.  Here are some tips that may help:

Write "A day in the life of":

A Telephone, A Computer, Your pet, your car.  Anything!  Include what your object would be saying, or thinking.  This can get very fun and silly, and it's great use of imagination.

Describe your perfect vacation:

Dream a little.  Would you go to another country?  A cabin in the woods.  Imagine every detail of it. What does it look like, what is the weather, are there any aromas?  This is literally your dream Vacation, so make it very personal.

Write a poem that includes all of the colors:

Even if you aren't into poetry, this one is fun.  Okay, magenta may be difficult, but try to at least get the primary colors!

More tips coming, but I wanted to get the ball rolling.  Imagination is key to a writers success.  If you don't already keep a journal, do so.  If nothing else, you can simply jot down what you did that day.
